Warfare and the Womb

The bumpkins go to Washington
believing that God sent them there.
Don't know much about governing,
but found a nice group for prayer

They make their superstitions
the subject of legislation
Building a cross of iron
for the whole world's subjugation

Blind guides would limit governance
to warfare and the womb.
But their shining city on the hill
is nothing but a whitewashed tomb!

What was never scripture nor science
became the central tenet that they've learned
A right to life, they protect tirelessly
only 'til the poor creature is brought to term

Their fetish for cleanliness treats
women as objects and love as hate
Can't illicit spasms privately
So it must be the domain of the state

Blind guides would limit governance
to warfare and the womb
But their shining city on the hill
is nothing but a whitewashed tomb

Blessed are the peace makers
and so they'll bomb til there's peace at last
And so they swallow the camel
even as they strain the tiny gnat

They claim moral authority
behind all they've set into motion
but the growing pile of bones
utterly refutes the notion

Blind guides would limit governance
to warfare and the womb
But their shining city on the hill
is nothing but whitewashed tomb

Turn!

Pandora's urn...
From which the darkness comes again
And how I burn...
Too cynical to call it sin
Society...
Always seemed to me as if myth
Despair I have...
Could never seem to bridge the rift

I can see that there's a chance for you
To escape the fate I've self-imposed
I know what it's like to dream
Don't let yours wilt and die like a rose

Lo! Don't turn out like me!
There's so much more that you can be
No, don't turn out like me
Don't put on chains, instead be free
Just don't turn out like me... at all!

Unceasing fire...
The reckoning is manifest
No fear of it...
It's been the path that I know best
Natural drives...
The millstone tied around my neck
Seek a new path!
For all the driven have no rest!

Lo! Don't turn out like me!
There's so much more that you can be
No, don't turn out like me
Don't put on chains, instead be free
Just don't turn out like me... at all!

Hymn for Thanatos

Whatever it takes to make the grade; put it into yourself,
because Thanatos is your friend...

Don't be afraid to work, without concern for yourself!
Thanatos is your friend...

Earn enough, so you can drive a dead sexy fast ride,
because Thanatos is your friend...

No thought of consequence; spread your seed far and wide!
Thanatos is your friend...

No need to strap in, ride bareback instead!
You're a rodeo clown on an atomic warhead!
A true patriot! So American!
One nation under Thanatos! And if you're not in, you're a Red!

You can have the greenest lawn--a symbol of your power
Without any interloping, goddamned yellow flowers

Rub it in your neighbor's face, he's your competition.
You're fulfilling capitalism's sacred mission.

And Thanatos... is oh, so pleased with you!

Your children roll around in grass doused with toxin,
but just take them to the church that the rest of the flock's in.
Take that two hour dose of banality,
a sure-fire cure for fear of reality!

Thanatos is your friend...

Curse the different folks, because of their lifestyles,
but don't question why the sheep are so fat.
You'll understand if you believe with a smile,
Thanatos just likes them like that.

He'll soon bring us home, he promises,
and the way we live--no time at all
You too can have that personal relationship,
and soon you'll hear Thanatos' call...

Because Thanatos is your friend!
Oh, yes, tell it brother!
Thanatos is your friend!
Hallelujah!
Thanatos is your friend!
The End!

Sneak Peek at the 2016 GOP Platform

Below is my prediction of what the 2016 Republican Party platform will look like.

Spoiler alert: [Foot-notes] at bottom reveal the actual source for each "plank" ;-)  Enjoy!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Personal Responsibility

"Providence weighs human beings. Those who do not pass the trials imposed by Providence, who are broken by them, are not destined by Providence for greater things. It is a natural necessity that only the strong remain after this selection."[1]

Celebrating Job-Creators

"Let no one say that the picture produced as a first impression of human civilization is the impression of its achievement as a whole. This whole edifice of civilization is in its foundations and in all its stones nothing else than the result of the creative capacity, the achievement, the intelligence, the industry, of individuals: in its greatest triumphs it represents the great crowning achievement of individual God-favored geniuses"[2]

The Importance of Prayer

"we have a great deal to rectify before our own history and before our eternal Lord. Providence had withdrawn its protection from us. Our Volk had fallen, plunging to a depth to which a Volk has rarely fallen before. In this difficult plight we have once again learned how to pray; we have learned to respect our Lord; we have regained our faith in the virtues of a Volk, and have endeavored to be better again."[3]

Putting God Back in Schools

"Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith"[4]

Cultural Exceptionalism

"We, therefore, go our way into the future with the deepest belief in God. Would all we have achieved been possible had Providence not helped us? I know that the fruits of human labor are hard-won and transitory if they are not blessed by the Omnipotent. Work such as ours which has received the blessings of the Omnipotent can never again be undone by mere mortals."[5]

Family Values

"The National Government will regard it as its first and foremost duty to revive in the nation the spirit of unity and co-operation. It will preserve and defend those basic principles on which our nation has been built. It regards Christianity as the foundation of our national morality, and the family as the basis of national life."[6]

Enforcing Censorship

"The life of the people must be freed from the asphyxiating perfume of our modern eroticism, as it must be from unmanly and prudish refusal to face facts. In all these things the aim and the method must be governed by the thought of preserving our nation's health both in body and soul"[7]

Strong National Defense

"it is cheaper to arm prior to certain events than to meet these unprepared and pay tribute afterwards."[8]

The Duty To Breed

"means for preventing a birth are offered for sale in every chemist's shop... what is in practice a cessation of fecundity in millions of our best people is not regarded as an evil or an offense against the morals of this sanctimonious society; it is instead a sop to its short-sighted slackness of thought. For if it were otherwise, they would have to rack their brains and consider how to make provision for nourishing and conserving the healthy representatives of our nation, who should perform a similar service for the benefit of generations to come."[9]

The Incident on King Street

In the Eighteenth Century there were no modern police forces.  In the American Colonies, protection of Crown corporate property was provided by uniformed regulars ("Redcoats") armed with common military weapons of the day.  Though it need hardly be said that they possessed no such firepower as modern police forces have in any sizable American city today.  Nonetheless, a historical comparison can be enlightening...

On evening of March 5, 1770, a wig-maker's apprentice approached the Boston Custom House in order to collect a debt from an officer stationed within.  The British regular guarding the Custom House turned the apprentice away, telling him to show more respect to the officer. An argument ensued and the regular struck the apprentice with in the head with his musket.

A crowd gathered around the writhing apprentice. Eventually, the crowd swelled to over 50 people. Led by an club-wielding former slave named Crispus Attucks, they began taunting the soldier and challenged him to fire his weapon. Church bells were rung, which brought more people to the street. A nearby barracks had been alerted to the commotion, and British Captain, Thomas Preston, led 7 soldiers wielding muskets with fixed bayonets to retrieve their comrade. Preston's troops pushed their way through the crowd to the steps of the custom house, where they assumed a semi-circular formation, and Preston ordered the assembled masses to disperse.

Facing the line of muskets, The crowd responded by spitting, throwing snowballs and other projectiles, and yelling "Fire!"  When a projectile knocked one soldier down, he discharged his weapon. A protester named Richard Palmes struck him with a club, and then clubbed Captain Preston as well. Moments later, other soldiers fired shots.  Crispus Attucks, Samuel Gray and James Caldwell died instantly.  Samuel Maverick and Patrick Carr later died of wounds received there.

THE NEXT DAY, the soldiers were arrested.  At trial, the defense characterized the protest as "a motley rabble of saucy boys, negroes, and molattoes, Irish teagues and outlandish jack tarrs." The jury found two of the soldiers guilty of manslaughter.  The incident would become known as The Boston Massacre, and became a rallying call for American independence.

Accomplices

We live in an exceptional country
A whitewashed tomb shining atop a great hill
Our public days of prayer, itemized deductions show care
For the mountain of bones hidden bellow the fill

And still we elect these so called leaders
the best candidates for public service positions
as they tell us fairy tales, wear fake halos like veils
to hide the decayed face of perdition.

I think we may be their accomplices
For we know that their crime is great
Can we put away this childish thing, rightly called pretense
Before the time is too late

This is an exceptional country
A whitewashed tomb upon a great hill
Raise your hands, praise and rant, to the cymbal's crash
Vainly hope Rapture comes, before the devil brings us the bill

The Shaving Mill

From wretched masses you seek refuge
They'd but drudgery to fill their days
But living behind your tall iron fence
Indeed you're a greater slave than they

Reaction is inevitable
It has happened in every age
Desperation builds till it explodes
To free you from your gilded cage

Without mysticism you supposed
there would be no day of reckoning
Mob judged by their own unwritten code
Now cruel harvester is beckoning

They built this shaving mill
to execute the people's will
Now heads roll and blood spill
Runoff from the shaving mill

Mankind works by the laws of nature
The mob ungulates like waves from heat
But this is no mirage before you
as you trudge forward on tired feet

Jeers descend from ev'ry direction
So many years they stored up their hate
To be an object of mockery
Was their lot; now it's become your fate

Without mysticism you supposed
there would be no day of reckoning
Mob judged by their own unwritten code
Now cruel harvester is beckoning

They built this shaving mill
to execute the people's will
Now heads roll and blood spill
Runoff from the shaving mill

In fevered sweat violently awake
Just a dream was your reckoning day
Perhaps time left to build your police state
but it's easier to change your ways

"Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for the profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men: Therefore the people alone have an incontestible unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." -- Constitution of Massachusettes (1780)
